I'm a Punjabi, A Proud One! Are you?

What makes me proud!
There are many things that make me proud of myself.
Maximum of you will find them crappy or unusual but there are some things that are very special to me.

  1. I'm a Punjabi, A Proud One!
Yes, it makes me hell proud of myself. Not bragging, but when I see my rich culture, the environment I live in, the place where I come from, the way we celebrate life, makes me proud.
  • Punjabis are highly loving, caring and most helpful people. Wherever you may travel in the world, if you find a Punjabi, and ask for help, he will never deny even if it involves going out of the way.
  • Speak to any Punjabi for the first time, you cannot say they’re less of manners. You will get out of the world respect.
  • Be their guests, you will get tired of their hospitality but they will never be exhausted. Within the fraction of seconds you will be the part of their family.
  • Life full of stress!! Speak to a punjabi, they are the best stress busters with their funny and joking ability.
Please don’t take them easy! Let’s talk about their toughness now
  • They have a “Never say die” attitude towards life.
  • They are the warriors and the saviors. Open a history book and read it. You’ll find why are we proud of ourselves.

I can go on and on but the list will never end. Coming back to the main point.

2. I'm a family oriented person.
I preferred my family over my career. I won’t mind any of you calling it a stupid decision and I won’t say, my parents demanded it. It was completely my decision and I followed it.

Yes it has brought many difficulties in my way and I have complained a lot about them but then if I give a thought, it makes me feel proud.

3. I'm a honest person.
Ask me to choose out of the two, A worst truth or a comfortable lie, I'd go for the truth. I won't lie unless that's the only option left with me.

4. I'm very proud of my shortcomings.
Like every other person, I have always cribbed about my weakness but now I've learn’t it is better to accept them rather than complaining about them. I can work on them and turn them into my strength.

5. I’m a straightforward person.
I don’t like beating around the bush. I speak my heart out. Offending people is like a crime I commit everyday but they say truth is always harsh however polite you try to be.

Thank You :) Cheers :)

Anyways, What makes you the same?

Acche Din ! #PMO ! Cheers ;)

What is the correct definition of "Acche Din"?

"Acche din aane wale hai", is this really true?

My answer is yes, these have started, if you have the definition, as I have of ‘Achhe din’.

Let us see, if we are on the same wavelength to measure ‘Achhe Din”
I am happy that 76% of Indians have similar definition of ‘Achhe Din” as I have. I am part of majority of our country, who keep the Nation above each and everything, and belive that ‘Acche Din’ have started.

He knelt before entering Parliament, a temple of democracy, my eyes got wet. I will live rest of my life cherishing that moment.

Now, I open newspaper daily with positive outlook without fear of headlines of corrupt and corruption news eating my Nation and its resources by greedy ‘political breed of termite’.

My level of pride as an Indian has crossed all bounds of happiness. World look towards me with great respect and as a citizen of a Nation whose Prime Minister has a clean image who thinks globally but acts locally.

The PM has brought me out of the hopeless situation, I was in, for the last one decade. Though, I was promised to control inflation within 100 days by previous dispensation but it miserably failed rather blamed me with reverse arguments that I eat more food. But, I am of the opinion they ate my Nation by selling ‘motherland’ and its resources for a song.

Earlier, I paid Rs. 40-48 for a Kg of Sugar and Rs. 80-100 for a Kg of Onion. I could not afford to eat even medium quality of Rice @ of Rs. 100-130 a Kg from 2006-2014. At times, I paid Rs. 50 for a Kg of Potato. I coughed out Rs. 26-28 a Kg for Wheat Flour (Chakki). The list is endless.

A sigh of relief, at last.

Now, I get good quality of Rice at Rs. 50 or Rs. 60 a Kg and price of Onion never crossed Rs. 30-35 a Kg, so far since May, 2014. Perhaps, the price of Sugar has come down to its lowest of the decade at Rs. 25-26 a Kg and Wheat Flour (Chakki), I get at Rs. 21 in Chandigarh, which I have been told is available for Rs. 18 a Kg in many cities of Punjab.

My hopes of Clean Ganges and all cities of religious importance have increased, once my beloved Prime Minister has taken personal and serious interest.
Soon, people of J&K will stop saying me, you are from India. My beloved Prime Minister has various dream projects to bring the J&K in mainstream. Perhaps, he is the only Prime Minister after independence who visited J&K 3-4 times within a short span of 12-14 months. His party has gained significantly, which is a clear indication of popularity of his National welfare schemes and programmes besides his personal image.

He worked dispassionately when J&K faced worst ever floods of century and extended all types of support to rescue, provide shelter and rehabilitate them.
Now, I never curse myself as a hapless citizen of a country, who never dares to give befitting reply to a neighbor Nation and hands of whose soldiers were tied behind. Now, the morally bankrupt and defunct neighbor country knows, he will have to heavily pay for his each mischief at LOC / Border. Our soldiers can take their own decisions to protect the motherland and themselves at Border.

“Any Mumbai like attack from Pakistan and Pakistan will lose Baluchistan!” That’s the language of deterrence that I wanted to hear as an Indian. We won’t hit first, but if you do, we surely won’t turn the other cheek…. . . .

Naxalite movements in East and Northeast has eased to some extent. Historical pact with Bangladesh may help to stop entry of illegal migrants.
Indian Air defense was getting weaker because of policy paralysis, despite warnings by armed forces. PM renegotiated Rafle with France. No middlemen, no commission.

Perhaps, this is the part of my definition of ‘Achhe Din’.
Anarchy and nepotism have been curbed with iron hands by my beloved Prime Minister. Jobs and tenders are not for sale anymore but are given on merits. The income from Coal Blocks and Telecom Spectrum, etc. have filled my National treasury for utilization on development projects.

have been replaced with transparency, good governance and inclusive growth and development. Thousands of pending projects of Highways, Railways, Bridges, Rivers, Stadiums, Schools, Colleges, Universities / IITs/ IIMs., Hospitals and Research Institutes have been restarted and completed with utmost sensitivity.

Now, I am hopeful, our Nation will get rid of illiteracy particularly of girl child.
‘Beti Bacaho, Beti Padhao’, no one even dreamed such projects in last 65 years.
No girl child will leave her studies in between for simply want of a ‘Toilet’ in school. More than 2,50,000 new toilets have been constructed in schools.
His vision of ‘Skill India’, ‘Make in India’ will definitely help to deal with menace and monster of unemployment besides saving Foreign Exchange.

My beloved Prime Minister has no personal agenda. Like others, he has not moved his family and extended family to 7 RCR or even in New Delhi. His own mother still lives in a small house and brothers and sisters live a normal life of Government servant or small time business persons.

Perhaps, the only Head of a State took oath, whose oath ceremony was not even attended by her own mother, what to talk of family or extended family.
He knelt before entering Parliament, a temple of democracy, my eyes got wet. I will live rest of my life cherishing that moment.

Perhaps, this is the part of my definition of ‘Achhe Din’.

Now, I feed holy Cow with pride and do not live with guilty conscience of seeing her cut for human consumption and even exported as beef. My religious sentiments have got a soothing touch with the landmark and historic decisions taken by my beloved Prime Minister and many State Governments have followed suit.

People spreading communal hatred and breeding terrorism are scared now. No anti-National will even dream of harbouring and providing logistical support to foreign sponsored terrorist much less resorting to terrorist activities. They know, they will be hanged even if pseudo secularist may shed tears and cry hoarse, the appeasement policy will not work anymore. My Prime Minister means business and does not like to compromise with the safety and security of Nation and its citizen. The IRONMAN knows his job very well and works for 16-18 hours a day. His passion and love for development of Nation is giving desired inner strength to him. Swatch Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojna, Model Gram, etc. will help inclusive growth, it may take little time.

My Prime Minister attached cord with my fellow countrymen with ‘Man Ki Baat”.
Perhaps, this is also the part of my definition of ‘Achhe Din’.
Suddenly, our image at International level has significantly improved. His perfect foreign diplomacy and clean image has helped to restore the confidence of foreign investors and improved diplomatic relations.

US, CHINA, JAPAN and many countries have agreed to invest in infrastructure and to build ‘Smart Cities” Trade Deficit has gone down.

President of USA accepted his invitation to attend Republic Day parade. It was a moment of pride for all of us. Icing on the cake, PM convinced President Obama to drop Nuclear Rule of fuel tracking and sorted out Liabilities Rules.
Sri Lanka rejected projects to China and given these to Indian companies.
India will make the biggest dam at Nepal, China was trying hard to get it. India will get 83% Green energy.

Indian managed to get 4500 plus Indians from war zone in Yemen and also brought foreign Ms. sushma Swaraj, V. K. singh and Ajit Doval were personally involved, never heard before.

 Canada agreed to supply Uranium.

You will agree that no corrupt politician or political party could have ever made an appeal to leave subsidy (LPG). Will such a political party get a positive response, if it do so? My beloved Prime Minister has dared to make this appeal to leave LPG subsidy. He is getting positive response to transfer the benefit to poorest of poor. I am proud of him. He has given me a chance of pride in leaving LPG subsidy of about Rs. 300-400 a month.

Though, I was born and lived in an environment of corrupt and corruption yet I never felt so embarrassed and humiliated before the past dispensation tried to shield and protect corrupt and corruption unethically with brazen.
The corrupt and corruption no more haunt and worry me. It had died a natural death at the highest level of Government, I hope, our PM will succeed to eradicate it at lower level also with maximum Governance and minimum Government with much better ‘Citizen Charters” in place.

Perhaps, this is also the part of my definition of ‘Achhe Din’.

Teenagers And Rape.. !! Saddest :(

Rape is one of the most terrifying and psychologically brutal things a young teenager can experience. Unfortunately it’s also very common for the victim of a rape to be a young teenager. Roughly fifty percent of rape victims are under eighteen years of age when a rape occurs and teens between the ages of twelve and seventeen are three times as likely to be sexually assaulted than an adult. One in six women has experience an attempted rape or a completed rape and more than eighty percent of them were under the age of twenty-five. Teen date rape and dating violence is on the rise, every third teenager has been a subject of some form of violence. More than 60% of rapes are in fact date rapes, when a person raped knows the rapist as a friend, boyfriend or even a relative.

Although rape is one of the most common crimes committed it is also one of the most rarely reported. Studies done have shown that less than sixteen percent of rapes that occur were reported - that’s less than one in six that occur. A lot of this has to do with teenagers not reporting the crime when it happens for a variety of reasons. Some teenagers fear getting in trouble with their parents either for the rape itself or for some activity they were participating in when the rape occurred, such as being at a party they weren’t allowed to go to or some similar circumstance. Others also fear getting in trouble at school or with the authorities for some reason perhaps for being involved in drugs or underage drinking and that can get in the way of reporting a rape as well.

Drugs and alcohol are commonly involved in rape to some degree whether it’s just their presence at a party or an actual involvement in the process of the rape. Most people nowadays can get a hold of date rape drugs, making their victim powerless to defend themselves. Date rape drugs are almost impossible to detect, as most of them have no smell, no taste and no color, so they can easily be mixed in with a drink without being detected. They can put a person in a confused state, or even make a person pass out or, some of them will leave your memory blank and you won’t even remember that you were raped. The most common known date rape drug is Rohypnol.

Unfortunately some victims mistakenly believe that the rape is their fault, either from their own assumptions or because of something the rapist said. No matter what is said a rape is never the fault of the victim. There are beliefs that if a girl dresses or acts a certain then way then she is “asking for it” or “deserves” to be raped but this is never the truth and young women shouldn’t have to fear rape simply because of their clothing or their actions.  It’s beliefs like these that allow rape to continue happening our society and prevent many teens from reporting rapes that occur.

The unfortunate truth is that many teens who have been a victim of date rape believe that it was their fault, and that causes more trauma for them than the actual violence they suffered. Emotional scars can be the biggest problem a victim of date rape can suffer. Trauma from being raped can last a lifetime and can effect many aspects of a teens life from future dating and relationships to their views of their sexuality. The most unfortunate cases of rape can leave a teenager very badly hurt, traumatized, with an STD or pregnant.

When it comes to teenagers most date rapes occur out of confusion from one side. And unfortunately sometimes victims of date rape and other forms of violence or sexual assault tend to keep quiet about it. That is the part when parents and friends must step in and show support. Although a raped person might not want to talk about it, such a trauma always leaves signs and changes in behavior. Closely monitoring your teenage child or your friend you will be able to notice changes and eventually find out the truth of the matter - whatever it was - that cause these changes. This first and the biggest responsibility of any parent is awareness.

The signs you should be watching for are physical signs of injury, falling grades, changes in personality and mood swings, use of various illegal substances, and the most common sign is isolation from society. If two or more of these signs appear you should take a closer look into what has happened with your teen child. Even those kids that know the responsibility of dating and everything that goes with it get raped.  It is very important for teenagers that have gone through this kind of ordeal to talk about it and get help and it is important for parents and friends to be forthcoming and understanding in those situations. The biggest and the most important responsibility of a parent is awareness. You need to be aware that teen date rape is happening to more and more teenagers and that it is a real and valid threat in our society.

Even though it’s not often reported it is a very present danger and it isn’t one that’s just going to go away on it’s own. For rape to stop there must be a shift in the mentality of our society. A study conducted in Rhode Island found that over eighty percent of young teenagers that were surveyed believed that in some way, shape, or form there is a circumstance where forced sex is allowed. None of that eighty percent realized that there is never a situation where rape is deemed acceptable in any way whatsoever. Rape cannot be tolerated on any level and it especially cannot be allowed to happen to young teenagers who aren’t capable of defending themselves and certainly aren’t emotionally mature enough yet to deal with the physiological or psychological effects of being raped - not that anyone is ever really ready to deal with such an assault.

The best way to avoid having your teenage daughter or son be put in such a position is to maintain a good awareness of their activities and what’s going on with them. Having such an awareness will allow you to keep track of what’s happening at the parties they go to or with the people they spend time with as well as what they know about protecting themselves and being in dangerous situations. It can be helpful for young teenagers to take a personal defense class as well so that they know how to protect themselves should a dangerous situation arise. Keep your teenagers safe and informed and they’ll be much better off when it comes to avoiding such an awful experience.

Things I would like you to know about me:

Where is my passion?

It's called being fond of it, a particular liking towards something, one you could get up for at any hour of the day and do, also nicknamed passion.. Have you found yours? What does it say to you? How do you behave with it? Or are you still finding it? I ask myself these questions, because I haven't found mine, yeah that passion.. What could I poasibly get up and want to do at 3am? Oh yeah there was tennis, but life smashed the racket on me.. It's great not finding your passion, it's magnificent knowing morning in life, but it's also good to do what you like doing, and if you love it. Hey there's your passion! There's a reason why we all don't know what we want to achieve in life, it's the same question. Where's my passion? Don't try to hard to find it, it will come to you someday, and If it doesn't, do whatever you feel like, just like you were before reading this piece today..

I write because expressing verbally is too mainstream !! :)

Be that crazy ball.

Key chains lie, some funky some fly, wires hanging, like the shaheed and patriotism singing.. Mohabaat echoing out loud, can you feel it, can you feel it? They don't want to come back, let them not, love never dies, take it along to your heaven or hell, like that tight knot.. Spunge yourself in flavour, life's glittering with a lot outside, cherish what happened, and what happened had to happen.. It's a cycle, life's the bigger subject, it's the breathing cycle, sometimes you have to choke and sometimes you have to breathe.. Yoga may teach you a lot, so would art of living, but what's the point when learning is something you've given up? One life, many reasons to fall, and many more reasons to give up, but hey take it easy, No pressure should build up.. Breathe, that's all, don't be your own tar, one fucking life, be a crazy ball.. Fly.. !!
